Brad DeLong's Macroeconomics offers a new approach to the subject. His vast experience of teaching, researching and advising the U.S. government on economic policy has enabled him to write an intermediate macroeconomics text that will set the standard for books in this area for years to come. For example, he focuses on the interest rate rather than the AS/AD diagram and he includes expanded coverage of the crucial topic of long-run growth. His lively text is modern, provides extensive insight into economic policy, incorporates a strong international perspective, and offers a broad historical perspective.

Don't.Buy.This
This book is a total nonsense. A number of books have been written in similar fashion. This is a typical American academic writing a textbook with an aim to write 1000's more editions in due course. It becomes a project for people like him.
Now the book: the writing is awful. His grammar is very weak. He is American and thus no one should be surprised. The style is dull and does not give much perspective than his neo-classical understanding of economics.
Economics does not begin and end with neo-classical economics. There exist a number of traditions in economics which he completely neglects. The sheer arrogance of this third rate economist from Berkeley is not bewildering but indeed shameful.
The textbook is a complete waste and if you instead want a better and a decent book look somewhere else. My tutor at Oxford also hated the book.
But it is my sincere plea: do not buy this book. It will be a waste of your resources.
