THE THIRD EDITION of Fundamentals of Thermal-Fluid Sciences presents a balanced coverage of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer packaged in a manner suitable for use in introductory thermal sciences courses. By emphasizing the physics and underlying physical phenomena involved, the text gives students practical examples that allow development of an understanding of the theoretical underpinnings of thermal sciences. All the popular features of the previous edition are retained in this edition while new ones are added.

Editorial Reviews
From the Publisher
The book omits heavy mathematical and theoretical aspects of subject matter such as the separation of variables and the Navier-Stokes equations. This method allows undergraduate students to focus on developing a sense of the underlying physical mechanisms and a mastery of solving practical problems an engineer is likely to face in the real world.
The book takes a more physical and intuitive approach to the subject matter. Everyday experiences are used as examples throughout the book. Frequently, parallels are drawn between the subject matter and the students everyday experiences so they can relate the subject matter to something they already know.
The text is self-instructive. It is easy to follow and understand.
The text is 2-color and contains a large number of graphics and figures. The figures not only give the student a better understanding of the subject-matter, they also spark interest and curiosity in the student.
This book encourages the use of open-ended problem-solving and gives students an early lead-in to design. This is done especially through the new EES (Engineering Equation Solver) supplement, which allows "What if?" scenarios for problem modeling and solving.
Additional application chapters will be included on the Book Website so professors can tailor the content to their particular course needs.

Unbelievable
I actually cant believe that its second hand.i am so happy with the condition of the book. i will recommend it 100%
Fundamentals of Thermal-Fluid Sciences
This was received in excellent condition. I found the book clear and easy to read. I bought it to give me some background theory on offshore drilling and alternative energy as part of my B.Sc. studies in risk management and environmental issues. Not for bedtime reading as if you fall asleep you might break your nose!
