Straight to the point!
Medical students everywhere have to fight between the need for complete comprehension of concepts and the limited time available for study... between the vast sea of notions that makes up modern Medicine and the need to stay focused on the really important aspects of each discipline. Well, Ganong is probably the best solution. Coming from a rather convoluted physiology textbook that drowned me with historical considerations and experimental methods, I was looking for a text that could not only provide detailed information with clarity and ease of use, but that also had to be extremely up-to-date. I found all that in Ganong's Review of Medical Physiology and thus I strongly recommend it.
Excellent with caveat
An excellent book for medical physiology, however one would be better off studying another book e.g. Guyton ,for cell and nervous system physiology. It is a shame that these two topics were so badly written as the book overall is a wonderful reference.
No unnecessary details
Wow!
This is a compact book. 1 page of Ganong = 10 pages of "other" physiology books. Saves time for you. Has a good layout with handy tables, pictures and easy-to-read language. Excellently indexed. I recommend every new medical student to buy it.
