Customer Reviews

Great cardio book!5
Extremely well set out Table of content, with major headings then subheadings, so I know at a glance which chapters cover which topics. Other books (Levick, Pocock etc) only display major headings, and I have to go to individual chapters for further lookup of the subheadings, very inconvient.

Great use of the footnotes to expand upon the science, really liked that in some of the chapters which delves things in greater detail but does not detract from the main issues because it is put in the bottom. Great inclusion of the source materials extremely useful for further reading. Fantastic integration of the organ system as a whole rather than disjointed facts strung together as some other books via diagrams and flow diagrams (invaluable when dealing with the heart's functions as related to other physiology systems - also fantastic basis for exam essay revision)

Invaluable study questions are thought provoking and includes quantitative calculations, extremely useful for exams

Appendix C very useful for summary of formulae terms relating to cardiology.

Clinical information quite useful especially treatment types in the Cardiovascular Pathology section.

This will last you throughout your career.4
A good book which is detailed enough for a doctor, but could easily be used by a medical student. The more detailed information is easily distinguishable and can be avoided when making notes, but is there for a quick glance to give you a more rounded knowledge of the subject.

Easy to use with nice illustrations. A bit more colour wouldn't hurt though.

A good basic science text with a nice chapter on cardiovascular pathology.

Comprehensive undergraduate text4
This concise and well written text offers a good review of the principles of cardio physiology and should be more than adequate for students reading for an intercalated BSc or for MRCP candidates. Well-referenced and with good diagrams it's a snip at £20 for any budding cardiologists out there.
