It gives you hundreds of completely worked problems with full solutions. Hundreds of additional problems let you test your skills, then check the answers. And this edition features all the latest applications of discrete mathematics to computer science!
So if you want to get a firm handle on discrete mathematics--whether to ace your course or to build a solid basis for future work or study--there's no better tool than Schaum's. Schaum's is the premier college course outline-the one that's been trusted by generations of students--the one that's sold more than 30 million copies! This guide can be used as a supplement, to reinforce and strengthen the work you do with your class text. (It works well with virtually any discrete mathematics textbook.) But it is so comprehensive that it can be used alone as a text in discrete mathematics or as an independent study tool!

Customer Reviews
Great for University students
This book was amazing. I am currently in my first year at bradford university studying computer science. There are some elements of the course that involve a level of mathematics that was beyond me,until i read the opening few chapters of this book. Understanding graphs and sets has never been easier.
Just what you need
Schaum's publications are not for mathematicians: they are for those of us who struggle a bit. However I suspect that many of those who are now experts achieved their understanding with the help of these books.
Only the important information is given, with no regard for mathematical elegance, but with much regard for the needs of a learner. The exercises and especially the worked examples, enable you to make sense of it all. Even the hilarious typos give you a sense of intellectual superiority and boost your confidence.
This title is an introduction, for the post A level student to discrete maths: set theory, logic etc. It could also help those university students who need to learn these subjects but whose mathematical training in school was weak.
beware, this book has lots of mistakes
Although the book covers a vast majority of the items needed for Computer science, you need to be aware that there are many typo mistakes within the book that may lead you to not grasp the correct understanding. For a book such as this it seems the proof reading fell very short of what was needed. Its still a good introduction though.
