Customer Reviews
A very skim overview suitable for newbies only
I needed a book with plenty of details so the title sounded as though it would fulfil my needs
I am using a German version of Windows XP so it was especially important for good detail in the book since I am still learning German and the combination of German technical words and new computer concepts etc make for a good challenge
The layout of the book is adequate but the details of how to set things was very scant
Numerous times mention was made of Microsofts wisdom in setting up things so you don't need to change them which may well be true for the most part. But the ability to know what alternatives existed was sadly lacking.
I spent far more useful time on Microsofts website getting the answers that I was expecting from the book. I will now have to purchase another book - most likely Windows XP inside out to emable me to get the detail that I need
Overall the late arrival of the book and the lack of useful info inside meant that I have imporved my German and learnt how to use a really great program which is Windows XP.
How to Do Everything with Windows XP
If you don't understand Windows XP this is a must for you. It does not matter what stage you are at with the PC world this book will tell you how it works in simple terms.
