Product Description

Meet Tanka, the elephant and his friend Skunka. Say their names together and they SOUND LIKE DRUMS! Tanka, Skunka, Tanka, Skunka, Tanka Tanka Skunk! They have lots of friends for you to meet, so say their names to the Tanka Skunka beat! Lemurs, llamas, zebras, badgers, caterpillars, big GORILLAS and yakety, yakety yaks. The book takes the reader on a veritable roller-coaster ride of sights and sounds as animals leap and dance across the brightly coloured pages. Terrific fun to read aloud one to one with a small child, and an absolute riot for group activities.

Customer Reviews

The most fun ever!!!5
Not only does this book help children get to grips with breaking down syllables to help them to learn to read and teach them musical rythms, it is also incredible fun - if learning at school was this much fun we'd all be genius's. I've bought it for every child I know - just so I can sing, or more accurately, shout along with them!!

It's a child's dream come true to have a licence to be noisy - and in the name of learning!! No more sitting quietly in the corner reading - sorry Mum's & Dad's.

Wonderful fun with rhythm5
This book is a must for KS1 teachers. It helps with music appreation, Literacy, Numeracy and art. it can be so much fun, the children love it.

excellent book5
My son is now 18 months and loves this book too. We originally got it out of the library but it was read so many times we had to take it back and get our own copy. he loves the rhyming and is learning to join in with it.
