The Clone Wars are over, but the clone deserters' personal battle against the Empire has only just begun. With death warrants on their heads, and a hated Imperial garrison on Mandalore, Kal Skirata's clan of clone veterans, Mando mercenaries, misfit refugees, and a renegade Jedi find all their worst nightmares have followed them home. The search for a cure for the clones' premature aging grows more desperate, and Etain's son must be protected at all costs. Darman and Niner are still stranded in the Imperial legion, and fight to survive in a very different army. But as Mandalore prepares to resist Palpatine's new order, Skirata is forced to give safe haven to those he hates most, and some he thought were dead. Clan Skirata thinks things can't possibly get any worse - until their ragtag private army faces the reality of fighting the Empire. Their most lethal enemies are now their own brothers.

The Star Wars book equivalent of prog rock
I may well be in a minority of one with this but having read all of the Clone Trooper books, I am glad that this is the last one Karen Traviss will be writing. I have found them all tedious to read and they are all the same. There are pages upon pages of dialogue that meanders to the point of tedium. There is hardly any action and when there is some, it tends to be over within three pages and then we are back to chapters of dialogue. Another point on the dialogue, if I wanted to read James Joyce Ulysses, I would have bought that. The Mandalore language is used far too often, especially when the meaning has never been revealed. The characters blend into one and the plots unmemorable. Others seem to enjoy them but they are not for me. Boring.
Karen Travis is a Mandalorian!
You do not need to be a Star Wars fan to read these Clone wars novels regarding Republic commando Omega Squad. If you havent read the prievious four novels then do so now! This is a fantastic series in which Karen Traves has made her own. Nobody has embraced Mandalorians in any Star Wars novel until now! I grew up with star wars in the seventies and Boba Fett was my favourate character. Now im reading about madalorian culture in which K.Travis brings across brilliantly and i am loving it. I have read a hell of a lot of star wars novels in the past ten to fifteen years and this is my favourite author and series by far!
just like the rest of her books
immediately submerged in the story. strong characters with lots of depth. not just a great book for star wars fans but if you also have an interest in special forces (lot of interesting real life facts put in).
this author is my favorite out of all the authors who write clone wars novels
