Product Description

Studies using remote sensing (RS), obtaining ecological information from a distance, combined with geographical information systems (GIS), can substantially increase understanding of many diseases affecting humans and their livestock. This volume covers the theoretical and statistical background, research and operational initiatives, as well as future perspectives. Reviews of current work on malaria, trypanosomiasis, helminths and tick-borne disease will allow researchers to see how these techniques might be useful for their own work.

Editorial Reviews

Review
"This book is produced to the high standard associated with Advances and thoughfully illustrated, including 18 colour plates.. To the non-specialist, all this information (about GIS) can be a little bewildering to assemble and digest but this book provides a good tour through it... A better forum between biological and physical scientists is a good thing. This seminal book goes some way to bridging the n divide."
