This is an excellent book for an undergraduate course
I have been using this book for several years in teaching undergraduate courses in mathematics departments on both sides of the Atlantic. This book provides adequate challenge without cluttering up an elegant subject.

The treatment is modern and concise and the notation clean. It is an especially good introductory text for the student inclined towards applied mathematics.
