Excellent text for an introductory numerical analysis course
I recommend this book as a solid, clear, and not too theoretical introduction to numerical analysis. The emphasis on Matlab makes the text very suitable for an engineering or computer science based approach. The examples are relevant and clear and the Matlab code is very useful. I have used it as the foundation for a numerical computing course using Matlab for undergraduate Software Engineering students.
