using munnelly and holden to padd advanced ecdl wp
i have now had an opportunity to use this book for my own use and my students.
overall the syllabus is covered reasonably well, but the layout can be quite confusing and what is really a problem are the errors contained in some of the instructions and screenshots
overall i get the impression that the book was put together in something of a rush
the accompanying cd is really rather useful but i would recommend that anyone using the exercises for third party study checks the files carefully before putting them infront of students.

Close but no cigar............
If 80% is needed to pass the ECDL Advanced Exam then this book comes close to being redundant. Why? - I passed my exam but nowhere in this book did I find any mention of Advanced Filters in-place, nor did it explain properly how to link one cell to a range of cells on another worksheet. Straight away that means 10% gone.

A useful introduction to advanced excel
The product is fully illustrated with screen shots and leads the students carefully from one study item to the next.
However, it is not a book to be used for dipping into specific areas if you intend to use the (supplied) cd files and folders. You will find that some of these are .mdb and used to assist in the earlier exercises to create .xls files used in later stages of the book.
Overall, though, a useful book for the students even if the tutor finds his tutorials route dictated by the book.
Only one real winge. Why not coil bound to open and stay open on the desk?
