Good primer, excellent companion to undergraduate course
This is quite good book for self-learning, but it is most suited as a companion book to an undergraduate course. It covers many topics in MatLab and tries to cover them evenly, leading to some elementary chapters where the examples and text are straightforward, while other chapters are too complex to learn based only on the materials supplied (e.g. handlers, interfaces, programming).
The appendices are worth reading and the examples too. I think a brief description of the toolbox system and some of the main toolboxes would enhance the book.
For readers who have none or only a minimum experience of MatLab, this is a fine book. For those who want to grasp it in depth, it might be too shallow and introductory.
