Probability and Statistics for Engineers
This book contains an excellent readable introduction (undergraduate-level text) to probability and statistics as used in engineering disciplines. It also includes beyond the usual statistics that is taught at the undergraduate level, a good introduction to data analysis, experimental design and model building.
This book has rich examples of both elementary probability and basic statistics and places a strong emphasis on engineering and science applications. Coverage explores the treatment of data, probability, probability distributions, sampling distributions, inferences concerning means, inferences concerning variances, inferences concerning proportions, non-parametric tests, curve fitting, analysis of variance, factorial experimentation, the statistical content of quality-improvement programs, and applications to reliability and life testing. This is an ideal book for practicing engineers or anyone interested in probability and statistics.
