A Very Good Book For Undergraduates
I like the clear, knowledgeable and interesting style of this book. This book proved to be very useful while studying for my degree in mathematics, especially the chapters on integers and groups. Its chapters on rings were not so useful as it took a more advanced viewpoint, which is really geared towards graduates. Even though a few topics are geared towards graduates, it would be unsuitable as most of the topics are not. I have read through four other books (guide to abstract algebra, introduction to abstract algebra, modern algebra: an introduction and teach yourself mathematical groups) of the same genre and of the same level and this book is easily the best. Overall, this book is user-friendly, interesting and most of all a must buy for undergraduates or people with an interest in abstract algebra.
