Good but outdated
When I chose this book, I was looking for a good introduction to the "why" of developing country poverty. This book was a good summary, although a little heavy going at times. However, it is important to realise that this book was originally written in the '70s, and there are sections that are very outdated, as they go on and on with statistics from that time. But a lot of the information is still relevant and good, but I spent the whole book impatient to get to the updated overview at the end of the book which was written in 1993. Harrison also takes liberties to voice his opinions regarding solutions to the world economy.
