An irreverent but very funny spoof of The Old Testament in which, in his own inimitable fashion, Spike Milligan gives his version of the best known biblical stories.

About the Author
Spike Milligan was born at Ahmednagar in India in 1918. He received his first education in a tent in the Hyderabad Sindh desert and graduated from there, through a series of Roman Catholic schools in India and England, to the Lewisham Polytechnic. He then plunged into the world of Show Business, seduced by his first stage appearance, at the age of eight, in the nativity play of his Poona convent school. He began his career as a band musician, but has since become famous as a humorous scriptwriter and actor in both films and broadcasting. Spike received an honorary CBE in 1992.

Coffie Table
A brillent, witty and funny book.
This was the first Spike Milligan book that i have read and i have now caught the bug. The book itself is not one to sit down and read for hours on end, but one in which you simply read for thirty minutes or so, spending the whole time in laughter having to reread parts just to laugh over and over again. It is best suited for a bedside or a coffie table, it is currently going round my halls of residents at great speed,a highly recomend book.
Amusing but childlike predictable gags pall after a while.
If you "like" milligan then you'll probably like this book. For others who are not "author surfing", it is amusing for the first few chapters but the obvious gags begin to raise fewer and fewer smiles for me. After a time, it seems that Spike is commenting without much idea on where to get the gag on this line - gags that would have best been served either with a bit more thought or not put in.
