About the Author
Eric Hill was born in North London in 1927 and, apart from a brief period of evacuation, lived there for many years. His career as an artist began when he was employed as a messenger in an art studio and was encouraged to draw. Eric's son was born in 1976 and he began to write stories about a puppy to read to him at bedtime, and so Spot was born. The family moved to California in 1983 but Eric continues to visit the UK several times a year and is very involved in developing Spot projects.

Lots of page flipping fun
My daughter Grace (18 months) is particularly enjoying this title. Spot decides to celebrate his birthday with a game of hide-and-seek. Hilarity ensues as the party guests use different hiding techniques and tactics. Alas some of the participants are too distracted by cake to hide properly. With highlights being the silly lion and the hissy snake, there's plenty going on here. The pop-up flaps are sturdy enough not to be shredded at first go by tiny hands, so on the serious side your toddler will get more than a few goes at this book. Well done Spot!
Spot the Dog
my friend's daughter loved the book i bought for her first birthday. My own children had a collection of Spot The Dog books so i knew it would be a winner.
