Product Description

'I had sent my heroine straight down a rabbit-hole without the least idea what was to happen afterwards,' wrote Dodgson, describing how Alice was conjured up one 'golden afternoon' in 1862 to entertain his child-friend Alice Liddell. In the nonsensical Wonderland and the back-to-front Looking-Glass kingdom, order is turned upside-down: a baby turns into a pig; time is abandoned at a tea-party; and a chaotic game of chess makes a 7-year-old a Queen.

Takes you to a magical, mystical world- essential read!5
I picked this book up again aged 26 having not read it for 15 years and it transported me to a magical, mystical world where anything was possible! Lewis Carroll's classic tale of childhood fantasy is a must read for all children and adults alike! Carroll's art lies in description...allow him to indulge you in tales of Mad Hatters having tea parties with White Rabbits in the woods, the terrifying Queen of Hearts threatening to behead the body-less Cheshire Cat and lotions and potions saying 'Drink Me'...will she grow or will she shrink...read the book to find out!

A classic enchanting tale.5
I'm sure everybody knows the tale of Alice and her adventures in Wonderland...the little girl who disappears down a rabbit hole and gets transported into a bizarre, magical, higgledy-piggledy world where nothing is quite like it seems! With memorable characters such as the Mad Hatter, Caterpillar and of course the Queen of Hearts, this is a book which enthralls and captures the imagination of even the most 'grown-up' person.I am now 23 years old and absolutely adore this book - it allows me to escape the mundane, often downright depressing reality of adult life!Reading this, i'm a little girl again, walking with Alice through her Wonderland right up until she's transported back outside again with her cat Dinah. Marvellous!

Better than any movie!5
Whatever you do, you must read this book! Many of the movies shown on tv over the years are not 100% by the book which is a great shame!

For example, in Disneys version of Alice in Wonderland, there were no scenes of my favorite characters in the book who were... the turtle, and the duchess.

Especially the turtle which was the biggest thing that upset me, especially when in the book, the Turtle was talking about the school under the sea in which he used to go to as a young hatchling - and that there was a turtle there which wasn't called mr turtle but tortoise, and alice asked why tortoise? because he taught us of course! Haha!

Many poems and little ditties were cut out as well.

One I day, I hope that a director does it 100% by the book, with the songs and everything like it supposed to be, in order to get children to read more!!!

Many children don't get the full advantage of the adventure in alice in wonderland.
This book is ace.
