Refreshing zest
If this makes Eggers' new collection sound like a soft-drink, then so be it - at a couple of pages a piece, they don't take much longer to gulp down and the effect is immediately invigorating: at first, you'll be amazed someone has the gall to call some of these stories, then marvel at how unshackled they make the world seem - leaving you free to follow the merry dance they lead.
