Simply a taste
of Elizabeth David.
Part of the Penguin 60's series of books is this little paperback with 58 pages.
Small type and no pictures have been major criticisms of these pocket size books but they are aimed to be just a taste of the chef!
This book contains the famous ED 'Lasagne Verdi Al Forno' (Baked Green Lasagne)' and......... 'Peperonata'......naturally!
'Simple-to-make recipes that bring home the colours and flavours of Italy.
Elizabeth David is one of the most famous cookery writers of the postwar period.
Her classic first book, 'Mediterranean Food' was published in 1950 and introduced the concept of good ingredients cooked authentically yet simply to a whole new generation of cooks.
'Italian Food' (1954) remains a firm favourite but all of her books have received great critical acclaim and show her sparkling erudition, care and love of good food.
The recipes in this collection are taken from several of her books, all of which are published by Penguin.
Elizabeth David died in 1992.'
