A single full-length play loosely based on the Greek myth of Dionysos and encompassing a whole range of European dramatic traditions. The play deals with the contrast of man as beast (our essential nature) and as civilised being (embracing morals, nature and decorum).

Terry Dumpton3
The terrible fate of humpty Dumpty is a play script about a boy called Terry Dumpton, who gets bullied. Terry Dumpton was a quiet but confident fourteen year old who enjoyed school.

But that all changed when he and his family moved to the town of Woodstock in Devon. There, a group of boys of about his age started to bully him. They called him names like ‘Humpty Dumpty’ and told him that if he told anyone about it they would ‘make such a mess of his face that no one would recognise him. They also asked him for money, and said that if he ever failed to bring the requested amount (which never happened) they would beat him up. All this ended one night when the bullies decided to test Terry. Everyone went to the field after school, and the bullies started to play with a Frisbee. One of them threw it up into a nearby pylon, and ordered Terry to fetch it. Stupidly, Terry accepted it, spurred on by their chanting. As he reached up to the Frisbee, a bolt of electricity surged through his body killing him.

Allot of this happens in the first scene, and the rest of the play goes on telling everyone how he gets killed, and how the bullies get there comeuppance.

A great script for any teacher4
This book is a great stimului for any english or drama teacher. The book starts in a very dramatic way with the death of a small lad. This lad is bullied by a gang of similar youth who make fun of Terrys weight. The play then re-tells the story of how this young lad coped with the fate of this bullying. The book comes highly reccommended! It also includes teaching activites that provoke disscussion and role play. The book would also be suitable for teachers wanting to look at PSHE and other issues. If you are not a teacher then the book is still a good read! Maybe you can remember this happening to you!

A great show for all4
The Terrible Fate of Humpty Dumpty is a great show about a tragic event. Humpty Dumpty named Terry Dumpton is bullied by Stubbs, the leader of a gang, and his friends Janet, Tracey, Kay, Kathy, Pete, Jimmy and others.

A good show to perform and to read. I recommend it to all teachers, students and performers.
