A first class read
The book is both interesting and informative. In my opinion it is one of the best books on the period. After studying under Howard Martin for several years the use of his book helpped my gain a grade B in my history AS level. If you are studying this period in britsih history i reccomend that you read this.

dissapointing
I have many books by howard martin and this book has to be the worst. It doesnt have any of the wow factor that his previous books did. i am one of his students at poynton sixth form and he forces us to buy his books as to increase our knowledge about britains history. overated this book is and he can do much better.
