About the Author

Jill Hadfield has worked as a teacher and teacher trainer in Britain, France, China, Tibet and Madagascar and run short courses and seminars for teachers in many other parts of the world. She is the author of fifteen resource books for teachers, including the Longman Communication Games series, five books in the new Oxford Basics series and Classroom Dynamics. She has also written two travel books and a novel.

Great for group games.
This is a great book for group games, from pairs to large classes. The games are varied, covering a wide vocabulary that elementary students use. My students especially liked playing the matching pairs games, matching a picture to a word. They didn't see it as work but as a fun end to the lesson and asked every lesson for a game at the end of the session. It includes suggestions for adapting the games and playing variations. Lots and lots for every elementary class to keep talking and learning in the classroom.
