This collection of essays explores links between the environment and human rights, and responds to the growing debate among activists, lawyers, academics and policy-makers on the legal status of environmental rights in both international and domestic law, and on the proposals for a human right to a satisfactory environment. Alan Boyle is Professor of International Law at the University of Edinburgh. He is a joint secretary of the British Branch of the International Law Association and is chair of the branch committee on International Environmental Law and a member of the ILA Committee on water resources law.
