Average customer review:Product Description
Many students find the array of structural types displayed by d-block metal complexes somewhat bewildering when they encounter them for the first time. In this Primer, Mark Winter uses clear text and consistently presented molecular structures to help overcome this problem and to provide a concise text for first courses in transition metal chemistry. His student-friendly approach will make the subject more accessible for many, and the clear progression of chemistry employed lays the foundations for more advanced courses at a later date.

Bare bones crash course in ligand field theory!
Picture this. You are a second year undergraduate student and you havn't a clue about the effect of ligands on d - electron orbital splitting. Never fear! This bare bones introduction will
allow you to pass, just. There is a dearth of real life examples but otherwise noone can complain about this book. Maybe someday you will be a productive chemist instead of a parasitic student and it may well be because you were inspired by the symmetric elegance of ligand field theory! HA HA
Excellent concise textbook
This book was recommended by our Lecturer for second year Inoganic Chemistry. When it arrived I couldn't believe how small it was! But it has proved to be very useful. I would recommend it for anyone studying chemistry.
