About the Author
Sir Geoffrey Jellicoe , CBE, architect and landscape architect, is author of many books including the classic Italian Gardens of the Renaissance (1925, with J. C. Shepherd) and Studies in Landscape Design (3 vols., 1959, 1966, 1970). His recent work includes the redisgn of the gardens at Sutton Palace, near Guildford, in collaboration with the late Susan Jellicoe.
