Physics Through Diagrams
I found this book extremely helpful when studying for and revising for my A-level... in fact, I still refer to it occasionally now that I'm studying physics at uni! It does cover some stuff that isn't on the syllabus these days (being based on a book that came out before ASs existed), but flowcharts at the front show which bits you need to learn, and the extra stuff is a bonus for anyone interested in physics. I made the mistake of bringing my copy into school a week before the exam, and didn't see it again till the day of the exam... because everyone else in my class liked it so much they "borrowed" it!
I'd especially recommend it to anyone like me who has a more "visual" memory, it was so much more helpful than traditional books with reams and reams of text.
Revision aid
Very good and thorough, really helps rememeber key points and is excellent as an aid before the exam. Only fault is that it is all black and white, colour would have been better to help make things stand out instead of having reems of text. Would definitely recommend.
Clear but not error checked
The lessons are nicely laid out, but the corresponding questions were riddled with mistakes, and don't show working. I gave up using the book because I was spending hours error checking the answers to each section of questions. Initially I thought I was being stupid but I kept tracing the answers back and finding errors. It is INFURIATING to be trying to test your understanding of a concept, thinking you are in error, only to discover that the editors never checked the answers to their own questions. On that basis I would not recommend this book...use Muncaster's Physics 4th edition instead.
