Average customer review:Product Description
The fully revised, third edition of this bestselling Handbook describes best practice of critical care in a succinct, concise and clinically-orientated way. Covering the principles of general management, it includes therapeutic and monitoring devices, specific disorders of organ systems, as well as detailed information on drugs and fluids. New material has been added on key areas such as airway maintenance, dressing techniques, infection control, echocardiography, tissue perfusion monitoring, coma and more. With up-to-date references and invaluable clinical advice, there is also plenty of space to add notes or amend sections to suit local protocols. Patient-centred and practical, it will serve the consultant, trainee, nurse or other allied health professionals as both a reference and aide memoir. This is the indispensable Oxford Handbook for all those working within critical care.

Customer Reviews
Good for quick reference
This pocket-sized book provides a very concise reference for common conditions found in critical care, and their treatments. There are some effective diagrams that simplify some of the more complex concepts such as septic shock. However, the instuctions for 'management' of conditions, whilst brief and to-the-point, could do with more detail in places.
Additionally, the book contains a large number of blank pages, supposedly for the reader to add their own notes. For a book costing £25, i would expect these pages to contain extra information!
Nevertheless, a good source for quick reference.
Complete, clear, detailed
I needed a comprehensive book which would explain the basics for my first time in the ICU (I am a medicine student) and that would be easy to carry around in my coat pocket. This is it. I love it.
muy consciso
la mitad de las páginas estan en blanco, podrían haber hecho una edición aun más delgada. no ahonda en los temas que trata, pero esta bien para hacerse ideas generales
