The Oxford Handbook of Clinical Medicine has entered the hearts, minds and pockets of doctors and medical students the world over. Now in its 7th edition, the main features and essence of the original edition remain unchanged. Developed over 21 years, the Handbook encompasses the experience, knowledge and wisdom of more than 10 different authors. With its characteristic combination of incisive guidance, wit, a lucid style, and memorable epigrams, it continues to be the leading pocket reference of clinical medicine. The 7th edition is fully equipped for the modern doctor with a brand new design with integrated full-colour pictures on common problems such as rashes, scars and jaundice. There is a new chapter on radiology and new information on consent and how to handle common calls. The epidemiology chapter has been revised in line with the undergraduate curriculum and there is greater coverage of medications and doses, clinical skills and surgery. There are also numerous other updates and improvements throughout, many suggested by extensive market research and reader feedback. Three new junior co-authors have been brought on board to ensure that the content reflects what readers really need. The latest Oxford Handbook of Clinical Medicine is just what the doctor ordered and is now available in three formats: main edition, PDA and mini, so you will never be without your trusted, flexicover friend.

Editorial Reviews
Review
Doctors often have this small handbook in their pockets, and nurses in specialist roles would benefit from doing the same. Highly recommended. (Nursing Standard )
Even after 20 years in print, the Oxford Handbook of Clinical Medicine remains unchallenged as a first point of reference for medical students and junior doctors, and the Mini Oxford Handbook of Clinical Medicine is one step better. (Cambridge Medicine, 21(2) )

Excellent Book for Students Nurses
This book is perfect for student nurses. It contains every known illness etc, so if you come across a patient who is suffereing with something you have not heard of, or have a lack of knowledge in, you can keep this small book in your locker/bag, and it can be easily used to gain extremly valuable information at your finger tips.
This book is the newest edition, and it very easy to navigate around.
Really good purchase.
All the content, but this one fits in your pocket!
This book is great! It has ALL the content of the OHCM, but it fits in my back pocket! In my other pocket is the Pocket Prescriber bookPocket Prescriber 2007-8 (Hodder Arnold Publication).
I'm in my 5th year at HYMS, where we are classed as practise-FY1s and these two books are all I need on the wards... and they both fit into my pockets... leaving my hands free for everything else (pen, spare pen, steth, pen torch, notes, drugs chart, order forms etc etc)!
My eyesight is 20/20 and I have no problems reading it.
One of your best friends on the ward
I'm a pharmacist who has been bringing the handbook onto the wards with me and this book has made doing drug histories and analysing patients notes so much easier. Its small size fits perfectly into your pockets but it hasn't lost any of its content. It contains so much in depth information which can provide guidance and information about a giant range of illness and disease. A great buy!!
