Average customer review:Product Description
Drawing on the authors' own experiences in legal practice, which together spans over 50 years, A Practical Approach to Conveyancing offers a detailed exposition of the key principles and procedures of both residential and commercial conveyancing. Following the progress of a typical conveyancing transaction from first receiving instructions and undertaking pre-contract searches and enquiries right through to completion, the book seeks to offer the reader practical guidance on each stage of the transaction and provides practical solutions to common problems which may arise during the conveyancing process. Each topic is accompanied by relevant sample documentation, clauses and forms throughout which are designed to familiarise the reader with the documentation which will be encountered in practice. Additional learning support is provided by key point summaries and practical checklists, and the book also features a number of practical suggestions to help save time and money. The book has established itself as a core text on the Legal Practice Course for students wishing to have a more applied overview of property law and practice. The book is also essential reading for solicitors, their support staff, trainee solicitors, licensed conveyancers, legal executives and others involved or interested in the conveyancing process. Online Resource Centre The Online Resource Centre provides students with specimen forms, and links to useful websites, while a test bank of questions allows lecturers to test their students' understanding of the topics covered in the book. Lecturers may also access the diagrams from the book in an electronic format suitable for use in lecture slides or other teaching materials.

Customer Reviews
Succinct and informative
Effective written communication is a skill possessed by only a few. The writers of this book have that skill. The subject is logically separated and then presented in a writing style that is clear, concise and informative. All this would be lost if the layout and text style were poor; they are not. A great team effort by authors and publishers.
Not for Conveyancing DIYers
I agree with the previous reviewer. However if you're thinking of doing your own conveyancing this is a good reference and answers a lot of questions that you might have having downloaded a law pack. This book is really intended for law students. For simple freehold selling a monkey could do the conveyancing so don't be put off by solicitors who might treat you with a little disdain.
A really readable alternative to Silverman
Everyone knows how comprehensive the Law Society Conveyancing Handbook by Frances Silverman is and that it is considered the top reference source for conveyancing. However, Silverman gets some stiff competition from Robert Abbey and Mark Richards in the very aptly named "A Practical Approach to Conveyancing". This is a really good book written in a very readable style and it has become my first point of reference for conveyancing matters.
