Review
'For those with a little more experience there is the brand new Blackston'e Police Operational Handbook, which in contrast is a more detailed reference book aimed at officers and PCSOs out on patrol and looking for assistance in effective decision making. Structures around the difference offence categories likely to be encountered - be they violence, drugs, licensing and road traffic, to name but a few - in each instance the handbook sets out the wording of the relevant offence, 'points to prove', meanings, explanatory notes, relevant cases and practical considerations. Easy to find legislation with highlighted notes assisting with fast decision making. Best operational book I ever bought5
Blackstones have cracked it with this one. Way better than the police officers companion. Although not as easy to read as that title, covers subjects in a lot more depth and is a great reference even on the street. Further to that it is current with the latest legislation including the recent SOCAPA.
Provides full definitions of most offences operational police officers are likely to encounter including the likes of Sexual Offences, Drugs Offences, the Human Rights Act and even guidance on missing persons and race hate incidents.
A well laid out contents page and test cases makes navigation easier than it first appears and this book continues to surprise in its depth and width of knowledge.

In short it is like having the full PNLD access at your finger tips on the street.

a must have purchase for all operational police officers5
This is an informative and fully comprehensive guide, that has all the very useful atributes of Blackstones and the PNLD. Combined into an easily read and pocket sized book.
Fully indexed including both contents tables of statutes, which makes subjects easy to find.
This book would make an ideal stocking filler for Christmas Day.

Excellent - recommended5
I recommend this book as a useful aid for PC, SPC, PCSO etc anyone connected with frontline policing. It is even helpful if you are studying criminal law.

easy to read, understand etc, a real must buy!

its compact as well, so it fits into a pocket (such as the one on the front of the body armour!)
