About the Author
About Michael Smith
Michael Smith is both an experienced ASIC designer and a creative educator, with support from the National Science Foundation, and an array of Silicon Valley companies, including Viewlogic, VLSI Technology, Compass Design Automation, Xilinx, and Actel. Smith holds a B.A. from Cambridge University in the U.K. and a Ph.D. from Stanford. He is a recipient of the NSF Presidential Young Investigator Award.

Excellent book
I was really impressed by the book. This is the only book I have read that covers all design flow for ASIC. It goes thorough all levels of abstraction thorough place and route, up to verification and testing. All of the subjects are covered in quite depth. I would recommend it to everybody. It is useful even for professionals in this area as a reference book.
