Some surprisingly simple yet challenging brainteasers
The Chicken from Minsk contains a broad selection of brainteasers. Most are refreshingly different from the standard problems, drawing not only on mathematics, but also some basic principles of physics and chemistry. Some of the teasers are so simple that you will kick yourself for not spotting the correct answer. Others require a considerably more logical, and sometimes knowledge-based approach.The book is written in a fairly humourous style which dampens the more typically "nerdy" reputation of such books. I would say that the book is suitable for children and adults (probably age 14+), but I was probably better at these problems when I was around 18 years old. But even now (at 29), the book is a lot of fun, and great for annoying colleagues who don't manage to find a solution.
