Philip Warner served in the Far East and was a senior lecturer at the Royal Miltary Academy, Sandhurst. He is the author of many books, including biographies of Kitchener, Haig and Horrocks and histories of the First and Second World Wars.

I wish author's would use more maps!
Ok this may seem like I am being picky, but one thing that annoy's me more than a confusing sentence is the lack of a map. Phillip Warner has written a book that recounts WW2 in a concise form, but what he has left out is maps that relate to what he talking about in the book. How annoying! I'm sorry Phillip but compared to other books that use maps etc clearer you only get 3 ot of 5 stars.
