I lost the plot
I`ve enjoyed Coonts for years but this one was vey confused, jumping from one dull scene to the next. The characters were wafer thin, and there was no consistancy to them. The Deep Black series is well researched and generally well written, but this one lost the plot somewhere along the way.
stick to what you do well, please.
I loved his earlier stuff, Flight of the Intruder and the rest of the series. This just doesn't measure up. Bit like Tom Clancy's techno series, doesn't hold a candle to Jack Ryan. It might be a bit boring for them to do the same old same old, but can't be half as boring as slogging through this new stuff.
Deep Black Conspiracy
I've read many of the books in this series and found them to have a clear storyline with a good balance of technology, humour & action.
However...'Conspiracy' with its many short chapters, confused story lines & ambiguous characters - 'Ambassador' who? - is very disappointing. If the next one is like this - I shall stop buying.
