Product Description

Perhaps the most compelling murder case of our day, the death of six-year-old Jon Benet Ramsey galvanized America - and years after it occurred the mystery still endures. Who killed the young beauty queen and why? Who is covering up for whom and who is simply lying? In JONBENET, the most authoritative and comprehensive study of the Ramsey murder, a former lead Boulder Police detective, Steve Thomas, explores the case in vivid and fascinating detail - pointing the way toward an analysis of the evidence some deem too shocking to consider. Here, Thomas raises these and many other provocative questions: * How was the investigation botched from the beginning and why did police so carelessly allow the crime scene to be tampered with? * Why were John and Patsy Ramsey protected from early questioning and any lie-detector tests, even though their stories and behaviour were erratic, suspicious and inconsistent? * Why was crucial evidence ignored, why were certain key witnesses unquestioned by detectives and why were the Ramsey's privy to sensitive information about the case and even police reports?

How frustrating?!5
This book is extremly gripping and I found it hard to put down. Thomasgoes into alot of detail regarding the twists and turns of theinvestgation and for this reason it was probably one of the mostfrustrating reads I've ever had! The book left me shouting in my head atit's pages as Thomas reveals the mistakes made by investigating officersfrom the start, the behaviour of the DA's office and the reactions of thelead suspects. The case does at times get lost in the politics of theinvestigative parties but I would highly recommend it to anyone who findstrue crime literature a fascinating read - it won't disapoint.

A real scary insight!!4
This book is written by one of the actually investigators in the JonBenet murder case. He gives alot of insight into the case and the frustrations that were faced. I read every page gripped wondering how these things could have happened! AND I'm just talking about the investigation! A little girls murder was turned into a politic and media football! If all that Steve Thomas has written is true and in truth, I don't doubt it, then shame on the justice system!! I have now taken it upon myself to read other accounts of the JonBenet case so that I can get a balanced view. This includes reading the parents account too. Whatever happened to JonBenet, only her killer will ever be able to say but it's about time justice for JonBenet became the priority, NOT the politics!!!

Make your own mind up.5
I bought this book, along with "The Death Of Innocence", the Parents story. I have to say that whilst this book was an amazing insight into the complications of US Law, I was horrified to see what a miscarriage of justice has taken place over this case, and the failure to see why no-one has had the courage to take this case to a criminal court and place charges.

I have a strong feeling that someone, somewhere in all this is being "bought" by those who can afford to "buy" peoples co-operation.

But I wont play judge here. This is a great read, with the companion book, for a case which has not been tried, that the reader can make up their own mind on. A thrilling read. Makes you THINK.
