Customer Reviews
A wonderful depiction of English country life
This book is a brilliant epic about a family in the early 1900's. It is moving, poignant, funny and charming and, I warn you, addictive. I could not wait to read the sequel to this book as I was desperate to find out what happened to the characters. The author makes her characters come to life, and they really come to matter to the reader. I loved this book.
