Shielded from St Petersburg society, the last tsar's four daughters enjoyed a simple life of almost cloudless happiness. Their evenings were spent with their parents, reading aloud and pasting snapshots into albums. Drawing on these precious personal keepsakes - long hidden in Russian archives - this work offers a glimpse into the intimate family life of the last Romanovs. Illustrated in scrapbook style with Anastasia's own letters, photographs and watercolours, this album brings the youngest of the tsar's daughters to life - a tomboy who scrambled up snowy mountains to sled down on a silver tray. Letters from Anastasia's final heartbreaking days in captivity show that even the filthy conditions and the brutal treatment of her revolutionary jailers could not shake her faith.

A good account
Reading this book, it's obvious that its primary audience is children. And it does its job well - it conveys the tragic story of the youngest Grand Duchess Anastasia Nikolaevna Romanova in an easy-to-access and easy viewing format.
But as a resource, there's nothing contained that you can't find on the web, info or photos.
It's a good introduction into 'Romanovology', with nothing mind boggling, but for those Romanovologist who are looking for something more comprehensive and involved, this isn't the book to go for.
It's well written and presented.
The pictures were great, and the book gave me a clear and truthful look inside Anastasia's life. Anyone who is interested in the Romanov family should read it. I'd guarantee the kids will be glued to it until the finished the last page.
My favorite book that I have ever read, a wonderful story!!!
I enjoyed all of the photos and the look into Anastasia`s life. I have been coming the internet since I read it for the fifth time or so. I reread the book offen and really like it it is my favorite Christmas presant!
