An easy to use reference manual5
Upon initial browsing of this book it seems to be very complete. It has 17 chapters, each consisting of a lesson and the instructions needed to complete these. There is a CD included and this contains the media neede to complete the lessons.

I find it clearly written and the steps taken are very logical.
Another thing I liked was the fact that it told me at the start of each lesson was the amount of time that lesson should take, and so I could pace my learning.

It starts the learning process at the basics, setting up Dreamweaver and then moving on to starting your webdevelopment.
Stylesheets are introduced at lesson 6 and forms at level 10. Other topics covered are lessons on testing and accessibility.

All in all I am happy I have purchased this. Im a competent webuser and although new to creating large websites, this book took me from a basic knowlegde through to an advanced level.

Does what is says on the back5
Doing web design for a living, using a competitive pacakage on the mac, i pludered into the macromedia dreamweaver realm, skeptical about what it can and can't do. Amongst the hundreds of available titles, i came across this little gem and it failed to disappoint. Even though i am more advanced, the book starts from basics and builds a solid framework for you to construct a website, weather professional or for fun. Written in plain english and thoroughly explained, this book is the perfect start for anyone looking to get into or brush up on what they thought about web design using macromedia dreamweaver.

A thorough guide4
A thorough guide to the product, but very dull to follow. You feel they have very efficiently divided up the funtionality of Dreamweaver and detailed the development of a website carefully using each feature. That said, it still somehow seems to lack soul. They teach you feature by feature, not by looking at what you need to do and then introducing the relevant features.
One thing that is a pain is that they show very few screenshots of Dreamweaver itself, so it's very difficult to read away from the computer: OK for a complete beginner, but it gets painful after a while.
