Customer Reviews
Probably THE biological dictionary
I own both this and its competitor the Oxford Dictionary of Biology. Henderson's feels more like the dictionary for university level people, having four times as many entries. However, to fit them all in, these are slightly less detailed and explanatory than the Oxford. Henderson's also has very few diagrams, unlike the Oxford.
A minor point is that the font in Henderson's is very small, though not quite uncomfortably so (for young eyes, anyway).
Overall, this is probably the one to get, simply for its completeness.
Good little book of reference
Firstly, great service from Amazon.
The book does everything and has everything you would expect. It's well writen and set out. Handy size. Only 3 stars because it's a dictionary so can not go into greater detail than you would expect, it can not give indepth analysis as a textbook could and it's not a thrill a page best seller, it's just a dictionary. It's also not illustrated
