A book you can't put down!
This book got me hooked from the very beginning, with twists throughout the story to keep me guessing! Although there was a predictable conclusion, this didn't detract from my enjoyment of the book at all. I shall definitely be reading more of Colin Forbes.

Great thriller
I've enjoyed several more recent Colin Forbes books (most of them in the Tweed series), but they've never been great, never more than 3 stars. But Avalanche Express was great. It's dated today because it was written in 1977 and the Soviet Union plays a large part in the story but it was still very enjoyable, with a lot of suspense. A strong 4 star rating, I'll definitely be reading more books by Forbes soon.

Forbes at his best
Another all time great from Forbes, with the pleasent suprise being the abscence of Tweed. From the suprising twist in the initial pick right until the predictible but exhilarating end, Forbes delivers his usual pace and style.
