Customer Reviews
A completely invaluable book, a bible for nurses.
This book is a complete must. Nursing models is an essential part of nursing, not only as a student nurse but throughout your nursing career. This book covers all the major well used models. It's an easy read and very informative. It helps with various assignments, but more importantly it helps throughout practice, such as: the model of 'PEPLAU' whose model is very significant to mental health and the model of 'ROPER, LOGAN & TIERNEY' which is used throughout all nursing fields. The book shows how to make the most basic yet most important skills more effective, such as: patient assessments, care plans e.t.c. There's not many textbooks which you want to read cover-to-cover, but this is certainly one of them. It's a complete must for not only student nurses but for qualified nurses of all fields as well. Excellant buy.
good allrounder
I am a 1st year learning disability student trying to get to grips with nursing models for the first time.I have not yet gone, "branch specific", so i need an awareness and understanding of all models of nursing from peads to mental health,as i am currently on my common foundation placements. Nursing Models and Nursing Practice gives a good basic insite to all nursing branches, it`s easy to digest and acts as a good referrence tool for assignments, " all branches" and it is cheaper than purchasing a book on each individual model, especialy if it is not your speciality. . Hope this review is helpfull.
not what i was hoping for!
i found this book a little harder to read than others i have bought, i thought that it was too brief on the nursing models and i was hoping it would have gone into a little more depth - the review led me to believe this when i bought it.
From what i can make out i think this book is more for those that have read the first edition of these two authors and this edition is merely an 'update' on slight changes that have occured since the previous edition was published. An interesting read but not appropriate for the stage i am at (first year student), a little advanced i think.
