It introduces the principles of pharmacology before reviewing the drugs prescribed in normal and abnormal practice. The authors go beyond the formularies by using case reports to explore the evidence underlying practice. A must for Midwives and Students alike4
A clear concise text giving up to date information with a fully comprehensive knowledge base. The emphasis on evidence based practice for Midwives is high on the agenda and it includes guidelines, checklists and points for practice. This is an essential companion for all student Midwives or Midwives returning to practice. Very clear and easy to read, an absolute must have book.

An absolute essential5
I cannot recommend this book highly enough. It is a very detailed guide to pharmacology in midwifery but produced in an accessible and reader-friendly format. It provides in-depth literature reviews, good case histories and practice points to illustrate each chapter and, having just started my second year of midwifery training, I am finding it invaluable. I wish I'd bought it a year ago!
