About the Author
GARY ROLFE is Reader in Practice Development in the School of Health and Social Care at the University of Portsmouth. He teaches and facilitates research and practice development to health and social care practitioners from a wide range of professional backgrounds. He has written extensively on advancing nursing practice and postmodern perspectives on research. - DAWN FRESHWATER is Senior Lecturer in Practice Development in the School of Nursing at the University of Nottingham. She teaches and researches into practice development and is widely published in both the UK and North America. She was awarded the honour of distinguished nurse researcher by Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society. - MELANIE JASPER is Principal Lecturer in the School of Health and Social Care at the University of Portsmouth. Her chief interests are in reflective writing and practice development. Part of her time is spent as a member of a consortium of universities investigating the use of portfolios in the assessment of learning and competence through a nationally funded project.
