Product Description

A delightful and inspirational collection of meditations on life from one of our best-loved religious broadcasters. Colin Morris, a Methodist minister and regular contributor to 'Thought for the Day' on Radio 4's Today programme has brought together the very best of his early morning talks. As he says in his Introduction, their aim is to say something that is witty without being self-consciously clever, serious but not dull, earthed in the real world yet offering the stuff of which dreams are made, religious without being churchy and committed but not dogmatic. They deal with perennial aspects of the human situation, sometimes sparked off by a topical event - be it political earthquakes or actual ones, famines, floods and crises - but more often simply seeking to offer 'a glimpse of a workaday world alive with God'. Touching, inspirational and uplifting, these daily meditations offer the chance for a moment or two of reflection in our increasingly busy lives.

Customer Reviews

A very fine way to start the day.5
I have known Colin Morris for many years now and for me he is one of the most imaginative and creative writers; a superb preacher, a fine scholar, a theologian with depth and a courageous man who stood up for Christian values in Africa many years ago. This book will challenge, comfort and bless anyone who reads it.
