About the Author
A former Professor of Engineering Education at Heriot-Watt University, and of Learning Development at the Open University, he is a visiting professor at Napier University and at Heriot-Watt where he is currently working on their Scholar e-learning programme. He is also an active consultant and conference speaker.

Excellent book full of practical ideas
I have found this book extremely useful, teaching at Masters level for the first time - the sections on use of Socratic Dialogue have been especially good, both for tutorial discussions and assessed written work - indeed, it is worth having for those sections alone. It is also useful for students, to help give some clarity to what is expected of them! This book should be in every university and departmental library.
