An egaging book for a tricky subject
I bought this book as it featured strongly on my reading list at university and it is one of the most accessible books that I have found for the subject of gender in history. It has a number of essays from various authors which cover a wide range of periods and some excellent case studies. Less strong on gender theory but overall a useful and interesting book.
