Brilliant, well-researched absorbing page turner!!5
This book is a MUST for anyone who loves a fast-paced absorbing read which keeps you turning the pages until the very end. All the characters are fascinating and richly described - from the goodies to the baddies. I can't recommend this book highly enough and would just love Paul Palmer to write a sequel.

Good escapism - not too taxing4
On holiday in the sun, can you really concentrate on Le Carre? I bought this at the airport in a rush and deperate for some reading matter. Loved it and read it straight through in a day, soaking rays and sipping cold beers. Good plot even if not unique. Plenty happening and thoroughly enjoyable. Good character development.

Rivetting plot, faultless executed. No sleep! Guaranteed.5
I picked this one up as a I had a long journey to get through and was so gripped, I have spent most of the night reading to get to the end. What I think I liked the most, was seeing what life is like for an investigative journalist. I knew from the flyleaf that the author worked as a journalist before I even started, but I suppose I never really thought of journalism as quite so intriguing (although I am a hospital doctor, so who am I to talk! ) The point is, that the world Palmer creates is utterly realistic and all the more fascinating because of this. The amount of research involved, really shines through on every page, and makes for an exceptionally realistic read. I always find that what sets a good thriller apart is how realistic it seems, that's what kept me coming for more from John Grisham all these years, and since he can't write fast enough (!) thank god we've now got Paul Palmer. When is book two coming out? I'll buy it to read on my flight to Washington!
