A good mixture of 3 key elements for making a play4
I bought this book to help with my new job as a arts technician for my local school, having studied in sound for 5 years i found myself needing to know about stage design, management and lighting. This book puts all of these things and sound into one neat package. Simply explained but comprehensive just the same.

Simple and easy to understand4
I work for two theatre companies simultaneously and my production roles often change depending on what people are needed. And I often refer to this book to refresh my memories on what kind of jobs are expected of me.

This book has helped me a lot from stage management skills to simple lighting operation and rigging skills. The illustrations and diagrams are very helpful. (not to mention that I'm also a former to student of Scott Palmer)

This is my favourite technical book5
Presented in a textbook style this book explains and teaches the technical methodologies and techniques practiced in the professional theatre by the stage management team, lighting and sound designer or technician. It's well written and presented, the information is readily accessible and there are plenty of illustrations and b+w photographs to accompany the text. Scott Palmer has included tips and tasks on design ideas throughout the book that are thought provoking and inspiring, making it an essential source for both theatre students and professionals alike.

This is my favourite technical book and I now take it everywhere with me, I thoroughly recommend it. ~ It’s handy to have all the facts and figures that you need to refer back to on a regular basis as a designer/technician complete in one book!
